Sometimes you just cannot find the template or Joomla extension that does exactly what you want.  That when we provide web development on a project by project basis.  Most of the time our clients own the software we develop for them.  We act as software engineers to create a custom web application program using php language and mssql/mysql databases.

Using the server side stored procedures in combination with php provides a quick product.

In the past we have used a variety of databases to get the most performance from our applications.  Today we can use most of the tools effectively, but more importantly now is the speed and ease of use for the 'Front End'.

Think of web site development not solely as creating a tools to get the job done, but also 'if the tool will be used'.

If the custom application is difficult to understand, has too many clicks or is simply ugly, people will not use it.
